Any stock failures?

I have already experianced tranny failure (twice) but has anybody had a completley stock engine let go? I know that if you boost the thing it fails sometimes but if a car makes 50 to 150 HP over stock, let alone 300; it needs to be built. I don't think I have ever (30 yrs) heard of stock internals holding up as well as our SVT engines have. Thanks

The thing with the Cobra is it has a strong crank but the bottom end will still need to be built if you are running over 8lbs intercooled no more than 6 should be run non-intercooled, you could melt the rings and get some nasty blow by and toast the motor. Honestly if I dont sell my Cobra for a 03/04 I'd Pro-Charge with a D1SC, with a 6lb pully and a good fuel system and tune than if should be fine for a long time as long as you have low miles mine only has 49,xxx. BTW Intercooled is the only way to go heat can kill a motor.

Its not the heat that kills the motor is the detonation from the heated air coming from the forced induction (aka turbo or sc) I would personally go with alcohol injection instead of an intercooler because of cost and a more sleeper look with no intercooler out front. But his question was a completely stock motor, not for something with a power adder.
