Hi Guys

Im installing a CD player in a 69 Mustang. I know that I have to cut the
plastic cover on the front to make it fit. What I was wondering was the
metal bracket that holds the old radio in place and the heater controls.
I emailed a fellow Mustanger and he said he welded the cd sleave to the metal bracket. Any other tips or anything else that would also work good. I wanted as much info as I could ge before I start cutting things up.

Thanks
Happy Holiday.

You could always buy the $350 billet piece:

Otherwise you will have to cut up the factory plastic piece to fit the cage for your new radio. Attach the cage to the radio face. Install the radio face and cage into the dash. Add a bracket made from perforated strap to support the back of the cage. Slide the unit into the cage.

I installed an older cassette unit in my car this way. I left the front metal brace off. Since it was a "conventional" radio with a rectangular center part and two knobs, I just trimmed the opening to fit my radio. Your work on the radio faceplate will be a little more extensive.

I had bought that $99.00 piece from NPD thinking that but what I received
was a cheap plastic cover that looked like it would dress up the front nice.
I called NPD and they told me this would hold the cd player no problem. To
me it looked liked one good bump and the cd player was going to be on the floor. I sent it back.
