I had a MGW for my T5 and absolutely loved it. The stock shifter for the TKO is pretty poor... I mean I would go back to my stock T5 shifter... I was going to get a Pro 5.0 but them I checked MGW's site on the off chance they made one for the 500/600 series and they do now. Any feedback on this before I drop 200 bucks on this. This transmission and associated parts is costing me 2700 after this shifter and really don't wanna spend any more money on it.

It isn't very smoothe and whatever spring they got in there to center it in N is way too stiff. I mean it works but it can use a lot of improvement. I was thinking cool its a short throw from the factory and I can live with it... I just got spoiled with my MGW I guess.

Break in the new trans with the stock shifter - 500 easy miles of shifting up & down the gears without forcing anything. Done properly, the trans will shift smooth as glass. Once you have everything broken in & running smoothly, then think about the MGW shifter. From previous posts that I have seen here on Stangnet, it is very tight and can be annoying on a brand new trans that is still stiff & breaking in.

I have about 700 miles on it so far and it still feels very rough. I have been really nice to it. Maybe mine is taking a little longer to break in. Damn the brass synchros.

MMR reccomended 1000 break in miles on my modified TKO. I have a total of 1.6 so far haha. I'm gonna take a road trip somewhere.

lol crusing down the highway in 5th gear isnt proper break in. Just gotta go easy on it for a while, even after break in, my trans is still a little notchy, feels kinda like a t-5 I guess, I havnt felt one in a while, but it just feels normal.
