I talked to ABS Competition here in Regina,they claimed that they've done a few sets before and had no reservations about doing a "street" job on mine. A full out race p&p they said they didn't have enough experience to do properly. I know there are a few guys around here running 4.6's in older vehicles that have had ABS do work on them.
Street job is usually a bowl cleanup (area under the valve) and a gasket match. In doing a cleanup its really important that your P&P shop keeps port shapes and voiumes as close to each other as possible. I have seen people take latex molds of a finished port shape and then use that port shape as a reference for measurements to the remaining ports. VERY TIME CONSUMING to do it right.
Not bad but I do believe the 4 valve heads flow better than 300 cfm stock (I can't find the exact flow numbers to confirm this as I dont have the time right this second.)
regardless in a game of numbers the 4 valve heads will always flow better so in my mind the extra time and less expense may be an excelent performance upgrade over anything else available for the 4.6 or 5.4. Not to mention the extreme response to simple bolt ons like nearly 100 hp for cams rockes and springs OR 50 hp by simply changing the rockers.
but thats just my opinion any head will work better than the non pi heads you currently have . ABS I've been told is great BUT I have had some nasty experiences that i wont get into here.
I haven't done anything yet. I don't have the car taken apart. We still have 17 degree weather here and I'm still driving her. When I'm ready I'll make the call or just save for new heads. Still debating. My biggest problem is the Longtubes, they are a real pain to install. I don't want to keep having to take the heads off because of them. I might just get shorties. LT's don't do anything for a KB anyways. It will be easier to change out the heads that way at a later date.

I think that's what i'm going to do. I'll keep the stock unported heads for now, get shorty headers and a full prochamber and get rid of my long tubes and offroad prochamber. It will make the head swap way easier next year. this "Hobby" is not cheap that's for sure. I don't really want to spend anymore cash right now. I just bought all of that supporting crap, cometic head gaskets, head stud kit, gasket kits, seal kits, yada yada yada. If you looking to buy that stuff go the SeanHylandmotorsports.com, they have a real good sale right now. The cometic head gaskets are about $109US a piece, stud kit is about $200US.
