A lot of people ask for advice on wheels. We were discussing this in another thread and I figured I'd start my own to see if it can get attention. I made up a basic picture of what the program might look like. It should be able to allow users to add different cars and wheels to choose from allowing it to always stay current.

I don't know enough to make something like this. Anyone?

thats f'in sweet. all i can give is my opinion tho

:stupid: That would be ****ing awesome! even if someone could making the pics and someone else could make the program that would be amazing. I wish I could do that sorta thing :D

Haha, aww, c'mon Strype. Now, I know hardly anything about programming, so don't get too upset with me here, but wouldn't the hardest part be making all the files and making sure they are the same size?

You might not even have to have the part with the wheel info. Just construct the three boxes (car, wheel and veiwer) then ask them to call on pre-existing files. They don't need to have special names, they could display the actual file name for both cases, wheels and car images. Then in the veiwer frame, you could specify the areas that change when either wheel or car is selected, right? :nice: Don't hate me too much, remember, I don't know anything! Just tell us about it, I'm curious to know at the least what might really be involved.

There's a little more involved there than you realize.

A) Database set up from scratch
B) Storing Pictures eats a butt load of space
C) You could probably download the "Primary" and "Secondary" tools, but I've no idea personally where to start on changing the color on a picture through a web app
D) Zoom I've also never done

All in all, the worst part would be trying to change the color of the picture I'd assume

That's a great idea though. I think Tire Rack or someone else has something similar with a GT on it. I've used it, just Google it :nice:
