Just curious how much boost people are running.

Im NPI so supposedly I can run more boost but just curious if anyone is running this much boost?

Is it a bad idea to run a pulley that is supposed to make 13-14 psi at 6k?

My car is setup to shift at like 5500-5600 right now though so im not sure what psi that would be.

Theres no point in revving past 5600 or so without pi cams.

I'm boosting 13-14 psi right now. Very conservative tune with 11.0 AFR and 15^ of timing. Some blocks can take it and some can't. Just have the back up money for WHEN she blows ...just a matter of time.

jesus...11 is pretty rich huh.

Well, I dont even think Ill be boostin that much.

If it would make 13-14 at 6k what would i be at like 5500?

I dont think Im gonna let the car rev past 5500 anymore...seems to pull better shifting at like 5300 rather than 5800.

It will most likely hit 10-11lbs at 5500. Just be sure to have a conservative tune and keep the timing down. You better have an intercooler too.

Peak HP will be pretty much to when ever you let off. Even when I was revving my car out to 6700 it was still making power.

that's kickass However...on a stock head/cam car it'll fizzle out around 6100-6200 ish. The heads just can't keep up with the increased volume and become a bottleneck.

Well then that extra lift and duration is really helping you out Fact is, if you rev high enough on stock top end, you'll just start floating valves and blowing boost out the E side - and the heads will bottleneck if left alone/no cams.

yea, try stock NPI heads and NPI cams.

Theyre both bottlenecking.
Heres a graph with npi heads and cams.

12 psi intercooled, same bolt ons as me basically.
Hes peaking at 5800...probably could shift at like 6200 but still.

Im sure with the addition of pi cams it would pull longer and make like 30+ more hp up top.

I've been running 15lbs of boost on a stock short block for years now with no problems. Just make sure to get a good tune and don't beat on the car everyday and she should last.
