Not that I want to be banned or anything, but... I test drove an '06 WRX (friend told me to do this before ordering my '06 Mustang) and I was pretty impressed. It did seem fun to drive. I test drove an '04 last year and wasn't impressed. This 2.5l (up from the '05 2.0l) gets rid of the turbo lag that used to be there.
I would be much happier knowing I stuck with an American car, and I am not crazy about the look of the WRX. The Mustang is a good looking car that just needs some tweaking to look great. The WRX looks are just tolerable and only because of the interesting drivetrain. All just my opinion of course. I just want to know if anyone else has driven one and considered it? I am sure if you bought the WRX, you are not on this forum.
I have to say, I need to go out and test the GT again. I think the fun factor may lean on the WRX a little.
My '95 seemed to handle better than the WRX, but then again, I think it handles better than an '06 GT too. Suspension mods would be on my list!
You can get a TR WRX for just over $23,000. I have A-Plan so my GT premium would not be much more than that.
Just looking for some opinions from people who have driven it.
Thanks.
