Anyone ever break a crank like this? *carnage inside*

I had replaced that balancer about 6 months ago, but it was just an el cheapo unit.

Just curious, when you replaced the balancer did you use the old "lay a breaker bar against the frame and hit the starter" trick to get loosen the crank bolt?

Nope, i just left the car in gear with the e-brake on and used an rachet with a big cheater pipe, from what i recall, i didnt have any problems getting the bolt out

i bought an 85 gt a few months ago with the same problem except the guy said he over revved it.i paid $200.00 for the car so i think i made out pretty well.
