Anyone have lowering springs w/out C/C plates?

I was wondering if anyone has installed lowering springs (H&R SS or Sport Lines) and not gotten C/C plates?

-How was the ride?
-Was tha alignment ok?

I'm really strapped for cash and just ordered some H&R SS springs along with a Polyurethane Offset Steering Rack Bushing Kit and hoping that'll do and I'm hoping the alingment/ride quality won't be horrible w/out the C/C plates.

I have the Ford C springs and no c/c plates with no issues. But the H&R super sports are more of a drop so you may need to get the plates.

You can slot the top bolt hole on your strut. Slot it out to where the wheel will move out towards the outter edge of the wheel well. Thats how my car is. When I put new struts on I did this. The pass side alinged perfectly but I didnt' get the d/s slotted enough. SO I have to go back and slot it a bit more. I just used a porting bit to slot the metal, made quick work of it.

Car rides just as it should.

I have Steeda Sports and mine was adjusted out as far as it could go. Still ate up a set of tires. Do it right the first time. Save up for the plates. I found some Maximum Motorsports plates used (actually the guy hadn't even installed them) for a good price. Check around for a deal.

+1, i did FRPP C springs without iso's and it KILLED my front tires lol too much negative camber.

i bit the bullet, got MM C/C plates (great quality) and threw in some 18's and it's all good now lol

i have had eibach sportlines on for close to 30k with zero problems... tires are wearing as they should. maybe my car is a freak? for most of that time the stock shocks and struts were still on.

H&R Sports, 1.5' drop, no C/C Plates and had it aligned. The guy told me he got it in but it was close to the max of adjustment. Close is OK with me.

You absolutely need to adjust camber or else it wears down inside of tires

ford spec sucks and being on edge of their spec will wear the tires.

get MM plates (nothing else) set camber to -0.50 on both sides for street use

You WILL need C/C plates with SS Springs. I ran sportlines with no C/C plates and it ****ed my tires FAST. Trust me and get C/C Plates

Got some used springs out my friends Saleen that he totaled. I don't know what they are but they gave a nice drop. No CC plates or bumpsteer kit. Handles and drives great and tire wear is pretty darn close to normal.

this is just silly to me... C/C paltes are only $180 for good MM ones...

just spend the money and do it right

i went with out the C/C plates on my 03 GT and a Pro-kit, it maxed out the factory adjustability but everything came out fine!

H&R SS's here...

Stock plates... Car is aligned but with -1 Deg of camber @ each side(Maxed out adjustments).... Caster is oK though..

I'm in the process of looking up a set of CC plates... Just waiting to get some funds...

I used Eibach springs. I ate through front tires fast. I bought the MM cc plates a while ago. Its worth the $$$ if you can afford it IMO.
