Anyone have Predator for 02+ gt

It's neat that you can bump timing and fuel curves but.....

You can only bump the timing globally, meaning if you add 3 degrees, it adds it all across the rpm range. I think it's the same with the a/f, so if you are only going lean up top, then you have a problem. The Predator wont let you lean up down low, then richen the mixture as the rpms climb. Only a tuner can do that for you, then burn it to the Predator.

I do like the other things it does, like the fact that you can download other tunes for it off the internet and aren't required to get a dyno tune everytime you change something. It's like a Hypertech on steroids.

This is why im waiting on the EFI solutions software . You can change whatever you want at whatever rpms you want .

I have one on order for my Mach, but there isn't a release date for it yet. They will come out with the GT tuner first then the Mach one after. Mine has been on order for almost three months now....and every month they say it will be out by the end of the month. I'm not in any rush to get it so I don't mind waiting.

for the longest time people (I think even Diablo) was saying the Mach 1 Predator was coming out before the GT one.

and what about the SuperChips SCT tuner or whatever? Doesn't that let you do more than the Predator?

I just ordered the diablo predator flash tuner for my 2001 GT from rpmoutlet.com. The cost was $399. They advertise an availability date of March 16th. I plan to use this handheld tuner to calibrate my speedometer for 4.10 gears, improve my automatic transmission, advance my timing, and adjust the fuel curves. All these things can be done with a Diablo computer chip but the predator allows you to make these changes without re-burning the chip for each new modification.

Any word on your Predator?

WOW, what a surprise

I still don't see the whole point of these hand-held tuners. Unless you want an ego-boost thinking you're a master tuner who can change fan settings and recalibrate gears, why not get a professional tune done with SCT or EFI Solutions. If you still want to do it yourself, at least get the SCT Racer package so that you can actually tune your car for things like cams and other mods that you can't compensate for with the Diablojunk or Hypercrap.
