I'm building a T-5 and I want to add the (crappy) synchronized reverse that started in mid-92.

Does anyone know for sure that they have one and can tell me the part number on the side of the shifter boss?? It should go 1352-080-1234 or something like that??

Also, if anyone has a regular t-5 tail handy, can you tell me that part number??

I'm trying to find a tailhousing on ebay, so knowing the part numbers of the synchroed and non synchroed tailhousings will help.

If you're not concerened with the last four digits this might help. http://www.coolcats.net/tech/advanced/t5_data.html

I ended up with a 204 service; a SSP trans?

Not exactly what I was looking for.

This trans is an ex-4-banger transmission where i swapped a 300 ft-lbs gearset into.

I want to add the synchronized reverse to it as well. Borg Warner started putting it in mid-92 and the parts are backwards compatible with older transmissions.

The tailhousing was slightly redesigned and as a result it got a new part number stamped on it. The number is located on the square shifter boss. Basically what i'm looking for is the number off a older t-5 without the synchroed reverse and one off a newer 92+ T5 with the synchroed reverse.

That was i can ask people on ebay what the part number is on their tailhousing and buy it if it's the correct one.

You can put the 92+ tailhousing on the older trans and it won't affect anything, but if you put the synchroed 5/R assembly in, you need a 92+ tailhousing.

This number is the part number for the actual tailhousing...and not the transmission itself

Mike,

If no one replies, you might ask Neighbors, he rebuilds T5s all the time and has a lot of resources. He might know. Or contact Glen at www.rosehillperformanceparts.com He also does a lot of rebuilds for local guys.

I had the original T5 from my car in the garage, but I sold the tailshaft housing a while back, otherwise I'd look up the older # for you.

I just remembered I had another T-5.

Anyway the old tailhousing part number is 1352-066-919

So i guess i could go on Ebay, find someone selling an SN95 T-5 and ask them the part number for the tailhousing and get my answer.

Mike, if you want, I could run outside and see if I can get a look at the tailhousing on my 95. Have to pull my shifter boot, but that's not a huge deal, as long as I can get a look at the casting number. Not sure if I can with the trans installed though.

Well, i just found a guy on ebay selling a 94/95 T-5. I shot him a message so hopefully he replies and it gives me the answer I'm looking for.

I don't want to make you take your boot off as it's a little bit of work to do. Thanks anyway.

Alright, I took my boot off and still can't see it. I can't seem to find my telescopic mirror to sneak down in there and read the number. I hope the eBay guy comes through.
