Anyone NOT running a "crossover" mid pipe?

The reason I ask is my friend is running a non-crossover system on his Dodge R/T truck and it sounds amazing! By non crossover I mean there is no y, h, or x junction, it goes from the header straight back to the muffler. I was just curious if anyone has done this with their mustang? Would it loose HP? Thoughts?

I remember reading a while back that because of the firing order having an x or h pipe helps.

it sounds like 2 inline fours, lol. It's for equalization of pressure. You need that to run more effciently, dont do it

a guy in our local club has that setup on his fox body. it sounds like crap. yet theres another guy that has a cobra kit car and it sounds amazing.

Depends completely on the engine. There will be no performance gains on our cars. All these companies didn't put money into R&D for crossover midpipes to have someone come along and make more power with a less complicated design .

New GTO's don't have a crossover either.

And yeah, stock is an H pipe.

chevys dont make much noise parked at the side of the road with the hood up

Im running mac L/t with no mid pipe...just cat then muffler on each side...sounds ok .hard to tell how it should sound since my o2s are bad and it sounds like my engine is flooded with fuel all the time right now.

Itd take away from the Mustang sound.

Alot of truck guys with duals run that setup. Doesnt hurt anything, just not the best for equalizing flow.

I ran without a crossover, no cats and regular 40's Stock manifolds, Down low rpms sounded like a crappy pickup with dual exhaust, wind it out and it sounded loud and mean. On a basically stock 2000 gt.

I'm not particularly fond of the sound, it sounds more like a truck than a mustang. This setup is stock manifolds with cats directly after, then two straight pipes back to flowmasters.
