anyone running steeda 19 cam?

I was still scouting around for cams and came across the steeda 19, is anyone running this, if so what are the opinions, how is the low end torque on it, and how would the low end compare to a B-303? Thanks for any help, I would REALLY like to find one used as well since they seem to be in the $200 range new.

I run the 19.....No complaints....down low its a tad weak as its a blower cam??...I run it dot to dot...come around 2800 it comes on hard all the way til you let off....Idle is somewhat lumpy, you can tell its cammed...
I needed longer PRs with mine.....Pulls good vacuum at idle, like 17 lbs.I still run the stock computer with it....I pd 220.00 from Steeda 2-3 yrs ago..

what pushrods did you have to buy? was this with 1.6 or 1.7s, because it says nothing about on their website, and I really dont want have to buy more stuff. How is driveability such as cruising around and whatnot, does the idle surge or buck when it lopes?

The 19 is a 1.6 cam so I stuck with those...the 18 is a tad more agressive and a 1.7 cam...I installed double springs on my heads to as I knew I'd be running it up high..
I had my heads milled some so that may be the reason on the longer PRs'...the FRPP shim kit wouldn't work for me...
If you have the tune right then you shouldn't be getting any of the gremlins...I get none of the chit and i run a Fox set-up....I also ran it with an Explorer/elbow set-up at first...
I set my idle to 700 or so ...It will go down to 600 sometimes and just hang there nicley...never any driveablilty issues or I would have dumped it....Only thing it doesnt like is low RPM as in creeping along in 1st...she'll buck some...:D Nothing I can't live with...got no flat or dead spots in the throttle either....it really added alot of snap/crispness to the motor...I really need to get a vid of it...
Oh ya...I had 355s and swapped to 373s...it ran fine with the 355s also....373s are recommend for it though....and I still avg 19-21 MPG with no highway driving...IF I stay out of it...:nice:

It does exactly what they advertise...Its SN95 friendly...

awesome, I would really prefer to get that over the B-303, which is what ive been leaning toward until I saw the 19, but its 200 bucks!!! which is a little bit out of my price range at this point in time, and I cant find it used anywhere :nonono:

What are the exact specs on the steeda 19? Lift and duration? I know it's on a 115 lsa. I'm running trickflow twisted wedge heads and already have 1.7 rr's. So could I just put it in and run the 1.7's without any issues?

I also had to go with longer pushrods as I noticed a bit of clatter after about a week after install, I purchased a Crane adjustable and found that they were a bit short and ordered 6.300s. I think the base circle on the cam is a little smaller or the head gaskets(fel pro) were a bit thin:shrug:

I mean no offense, but this doesn't sound right. If the base circle was a little smaller, I could understand longer pushrods. But if the head gasket was too thin or the heads were milled, I would think that you would need SHORTER pushrods. Or is there something I missed? I'm curious, because I'm going to put a Steeda #19 and 1.7rr in my GT soon. I wanna get it right the first time (if possible).

Oops sorry, I ment too THICK:bang: I at times cant talk think and type at the same time, I got my pushrods from Pro Power in the Ft. Lauderdale area when I lived in Florida, they set me back around 120.00.

so for those who have had to replace pushrods with the 19 on 1.6 rockers, what length did you have to go, Ill be running ported E7s, more than likely with stock rockers, because I dont have the money for new ones. Thanks for any help.

Are your E7s going to be milled at all. If they are then your stock pushrods may work. Looks like most guys go from the stock 6.250" rods to 6.300" rods. If your heads get milled then that could be enough to make up the difference as the heads will be closer to the cam if you mill the heads. Just a thought.

EDIT: The heads won't be closer but the rocker arms on the heads will be closer if the heads are milled.
