The things we now know about Ford's pcm programs have been hacked out by various peeps.
The EEC Tuner was one of the first interfaces to allow everybody to make pcm changes.
The Tweecer came later and is similar to the ET but with more datalogging options.
The Tweecer, like the ET, is a tool that allows you change values in the pcm with no frills or user friendly features. That basic no frills concept keeps the cost down.
So here is how things are with those two tuning options.
You got the knowledge of Ford's pcm operation available to you on the www and various books.
You got the interface to make the changes.
Its up to you to put the two of them together for your very own custom tune.
For the most part, peeps that see that opportunity feel that is enough for them to get started and they learn as they go.
Most peeps don't waste time trying to put something together like an instruction book as the info is already out there.
It is a mind set more than anything else and if you see yourself as having that kind of mind set then the Tweecer just might be an option for you.
If one doesn't see himself with that kind of mind set .....................
Other tuner interfaces like PMS and such offer some user friendly features but those do come at a higher cost to you.
bottom line ......................
The Tweecer to some can be a source of frustration.
To others it is a challange that they know they are up to. They also know that as their knowledge builds they have more and more control of their Stang's tune.
I have had a lot of fun learning about how that little silver box does its thing and using that stuff I learned to tune my Stang.
