Anyone sorry they bought a tweecer? Lots of head-banging going on..

I can't believe no one has tried this. The only thing is not only will it have to move dead weight, it will also compress air that won't be used for a power stroke, but still less fuel is less fuel. Anyone have any input?

Guess you could pull timing everywhere and set a rev limiterr pretty low...Then again never know could be dangerous to limit the car on power so much like if there is a yellow light, need to take action to avoid a wreck etc.

When/If I get my tweecer I plan at the least to do a 93 Octane tune and a 87 octane tune.

Lowering the rev limiter is not what I'm talking about here.

Pulling timing would still result in the same amount of fuel used.

Even in "4 cylinder mode" we should still theoretically have about the same power, additionally, what kind of 4-cyl. has our stroke? Probably not many.

C'mon, someone argue my point. :(

A 4cylinder might not have our stroke, but they also don't have the extra 4 cylinders to move. So it will not have the same power running on 4 as it will on 8. But I think you're right, there might be some way to cut back a lot of fuel as a sort of "putter-around-town" tune. :shrug:

You could even tune so that as soon as you go over a certain RPM or throttle percentage (TPS Voltage?), 2500 RPM lets say, all 8 cylinders kick on (really just injectors and spark). OR just have a daily driving tune, where you run like 4-6 cylinders and then some dummy pulls up or you go to the track and just flip the switch (if you have a tweecer) and boom 8 cylinders.

The tweecer could virtually pay for itself in the savings on gas! and you could use the gas savings to justify more parts! yay for married guys!
 
The only way to make anything like that efficient would be to dump compression in dead cylinders during economy mode (actuators on the valves, etc). Otherwise, like Chris and others mentioned, the parasitic loss from the dead pots reduces greatly any beneficial effects.

It also takes a LOT of programming to make this work and be livable (other systems are fairly affected).
