ok, I was browsing for a bassani o/r X and some long tubes this morning, and a few websites said that bassani o/r xs REQUIRE bassani LT headers, and no other brand. is this true??? I was wanting to go with some BBK LT headers and the bassani X.

I believe you do need the Bassani headers for the X-pipe, but don't take that as gospel.

If you want the BBK LT's, get their X-pipe, not much of a difference in design between BBK and Bassani.

Bassani is a little better quality, not sure about fitment, but it's all about what you want and how much you wanna spend.

I've dealt with bassani and bought the LT's.

the off road X is a 2-3/4 diameter on the inlet and a 2-1/2 on the outlet end.
the long tubes are 2-3/4 collector, corvettes do this. the bassani is a slip fit connector and will only fit stock heads. any aftermarket ones wtih raised exhaust ports wont fit. unfortunately, I found this the hard way

I have BBK LT's and Dr. Gas X. had to hacksaw the **** a bit but now it fits and sounds really crazy. like at 4k it sounds very exotic and european. I live in an area that is really rich (Bellevue/Redmond, WA) and there is nothing but M3's 911Turbo's GT-2's/3's, etc. they act like they want to run till I let her stay in gear, then they just chang into the slow lanes. they dont' really know hwo to drive their cars anyways, most of them at least.

I'll try to get a sound clip within a week or so.

If I cant use other brands besides bassani headers with their x-pipe that sucks! my dreams have been slayed!!!! I was thinking of buying them with my graduation money, and I dont have the extra money for bassani headers. Yea though, redblur I would like to hear your setup.

Just buy the BBK headers and X-pipe, many people have used them and had no problem.

here is a solution...

buy the mac slip fit headers. ( it sucks arse but like you get 8 primaries and you have to pound in the collector. waht you do is ditch the mac collector which sucks, and buy like a flowmaster, or kooks collector with your diameter primaries and a 2-3/4 outlet. that way you can run the bassani X-pipe, and you will have a more efficient colletor which will scavenge more and make your idle more quiet.

thats the only way that I can think of where you could run it.
