Anything special needed for B&M Deep tranny pan install?

I have had it for at least 4-5 years. Fitment was fine, nice piece. Only drawback is it hangs low; scraped it a few times. It added I believe 3 qt.s to the total fill. Last time I did a complete tranny change it was darn near 4 gals total. I used Redline ATF, it cost a small fortune.

I used what all the drag racers and transmission builders recommended and use and that is "John Deere" brand hydraulic oil. It was about $12/gallon and is clear in color. So far it is working good.

Is it a synthetic? What would the intervals of changing it be? Does it have all the additives needed for extended use? Where did you purchase it from? Are there different weights/grades?
