I have done some searching and got conflicting information between standard and metric threads. I picked up a deep aluminum AOD trans pan but it did not come with bolts. I know they should be allen head but what is the thread size/pitch and how long should they be?

Thanks

Chris

I believe the are M8-1.25. Not sure about length with the deep pan. I would measure the lip of the pan, and add .5 or .75 inches to that. I have a B&M deep pan on my car.

I got the bolt size off the package of helicoils I used to fix stripped threads in my AOD case the last i had the pan off.

I think that these are it:

AOD Pan Bolts

M8 x 1.25 bolt, 14 mm in length

I def see what you're talking about though. Every dumbass on the internet lists every bolt for that transmission but skips over bolt size even in the transmission drawings!

So... Next butt wipe you see post instructions for AOD pan without listing bolt-size is getting kicked in his e-nuts.

The other size I see listed over and over again are:

  • Size : 5/16-18 x 5/8"
  • Quantity : 14
I think though, that this is for the C4 AOD.

I checked the application tab on Summit's website and theirs is just as clueless.

In other news: I'll talk a look in my shop manual when I get home.

Let's solve this once and for all and get it into the Bolt Index Thread.

I've got my old AOD sitting at a relative's house, but doubt I'd be able to get over there anytime soon to pull a bolt and spec it out. Other than that, no clue.
