If all it does is shutter, might be wrong type of fluid. I would suggest a good flush and add an additive called "Smart Blend(red)".

Thats the right fluid.. Didn't put in Mecron V by chance did you? Mecron 3 & 5 don't play well together and will cause shifting problems.

how about not enuff fluid cause i just got back from the store and it is low on fluid would that cause the OD to grab then let go then grab then let go again then smtms grab and just REV .? i dont know for sure what the guy before me had put in the transmission
would it be to much heat to run the trans through an external trans cooler and not the radiator?

Low fluid will cause shifting problems for sure. And and external cooler is a good idea.
