I know this topic has been discussed but I couldn't find an answer.

I have the directions from westcoastford and they mention in them to relocate the speedo cable. This involves pulling the instrument cluster.

In my searches nobody really talks about this step. Is there a way around it? How are you guys running the clutch cable through the firewall? Any pics would be great. Maybe I missed something, but I don't want to do this step if I don't have to. Thanks

no dice...you have to do this step. It's not that hard at all though, so don't get worried. In order to put the pedals in you have to drop the column, and the cluster comes out with maybe 3 more torx head screws.

On your firewall there's already a hole with a rubber grommet in it. You have to push out the grommet and re-route the speedo cable through it. Then put the clutch cable through the hole where the speedo cable was. It HAS to go there because it needs to line up with the quadrant.

Okay, thanks.

Can any other wires go through where the clutch cable goes? I have my stereo cable and temp gauge going through that hole. Should I re-route those so just the clutch cable is going through there? I rather not re-route but I can.

Does the clutch adjust at the firewall?

Thanks

yes you'll have to reroute them, you can put i together with the speedo cable

thanks for the info. This question might need to go somewhere else, but I can I do the pedal assembly, and change the speedo cable, and hook up the clutch cable but just have it (clutch cable) tied up under the hood, and still drive the car? I am trying to do this in steps, and was wondering if I could get most of the stuff inside the car done first. Thanks for the info.

if you just want to install the pedal assembly and drive the car, you dont have to install the clutch cable too, the pedal will be dead. I drove mine around with the assembly in there, minus the cable, its not gonna harm anything, just make sure everything else is connected back to your brake pedal

I did the same swap a few years ago. If I remember correctly, I had to pull the dash. The Clutch Cable runs through the opening behind it on the left side (the side that currently your speedo cable is routed through) and ran the speedo cable through the right side. It has been awhile, but I think this was right.

just leave it there until you're ready to use it. You don't even need to have the clutch cable in there. Just move the speedo cable so your car's ready for the clutch cable when you're ready to put it in.

You don't need to pull the dash, just the instrument cluster.....and not even all the way; just enough to get to the speedo cable to unhook it.
