AOD tranny rebuilders? i got a qustion

ok i had a lot of leakage from the tailshaft...i replaced the tailshaft seal and it was good to go. drove around for a while...about 45 minutes but a few stops totalled about 10 miles. just as i was pulling back on by street, it must have started leaking really bad again...smoking like a fog machine?
what could be leaking ? or smoking the seal that fast?
nothing in the tail shaft was rough, i even put a tiny bit of silicone on the sealing edge of the new seal, and i sanded the outside of the driveshaft where she slips in. thanks in advance.....bob

put a new seal in, and lube the driveshaft with trans fluid before intalling it.

I know this is a stupid question but here goes.....Are you sure it's coming from the seal? The speedo cable also has an O ring in it. Did you inspect the tail shaft housing? Could it be cracked? How fine a sandpaper did you use on the driveshaft? Nothing too coarse I hope? Is there a wear ring on the shaft? One other possibility is the tranny vent. If it's plugged with dirt or something when the tranny heats up it'll blow fluid out the seal. Hope this helps. Mike
