AOD&what gears?

I own a 90 conv. with AOD trying to figure out what gears to put in the rear I'm thinking of 3.73 or 4.10- have 2.73 right now any suggestions

im putting a valvebody first then going with 410's

I have 3:73's and a 2800 stall. It was a lot of fun to drive.

I have 3.73,2400 stall and a Lentech valve body. It is a different car from stock.

Conv is heavy,so no less then 3.73. For the extra kick,throw on a supercharger. lol

I've always been told for an automatic use 4.10s and for a manual use 3.73s. I have 3.55s because thats what the previous owner put in but I deffinately want some 4.10s to go with the 3200 converter and shift kit I have.

i have a 89 vert. i put 3.73 in side. and the gas milage sucks. I run premium and cruise at 55 mph at 2000 rpm.

I hate them cause we got no track anymore. so its kinda useless for me now.

but yeah they rock when you lay it down. but you have to ease up on the freeway racing cause when you floor it, trans will drop a gear but unless you let off the gas it won't go back to OD.

good luck.

oh also check your posi. if it needs fixing do it then cause they'll have it apart anyways.

they didn't fix mine and i was pissed cause it cost almost the same to do it cause its the same amount of work.

A good shop will most likely give you a head up when they are doing rearend gear if the bearing and posi might need to be replace/rebuild. They should asked for a brief history of your car,factor in the mileage etc and save some money for the owner,and good will for the shop in the long run.

if its a dd than 373's.weekend warrior than 410's.i have mustangs with each while both are fun the 410's killed me on long drives.i always wonderd how the 390's would be.

I agree i have a 93 GT vert...had 3.27's now have 3.73's gas mileage sucks now...Oh yeah my car if i leave it in OD and floor it on the highway it downshifts but it will upshift in to OD still while its still floored...My car is weird tho it seems like it pulls all the way to redline and i know it shouldnt it,I know they dont have much more power after 5000 rpms...but mine seems to keep pulling to 5800 rpms...its possible it is but not making anymore power..lol...

I don't understand how people are getting worse gas mileage with the 373's over the 273's, when I swapped in my 373's my mileage got better

I had 3.27's and trust me i get at least 2 miles per gallon worse 3.73's now..maybe im driving faster then i was your spining the motor more so yes the motor is working harder...I hear so many people saying the gas mileage is better i wish mine was...
