Living in the frozen Northland on the Canadian-US border keeps me busy and happy all year long. Except April. The ice is melting and the weather just sucks. Last spring I took my time and rebuilt a used John Deere UTV. Took me all the way to the opening of fresh water fishing. So I have some plans for the spring.
@2Blue2 : Hey Buddy! I'm still alive and had a question for you. On your son's Cobra II I think you put on some bluetooth cutouts. Did they work out? If so would you recommend them to me? What was the brand? If not what would you use instead?
@LILCBRA ; How are you? Did you get the headliner in your Cobra II? I have a question for you also. If I remember right you put an electric fan on your radiator. Same Questions as 2Blue2.
Thanks, Enzio.

Hey @Enzio ! Thought you dropped off the face of the earth! Good to know you only got close and you're way up there near Canuckistania. Remember to duck and cover, they like to launch not-so-sneak attacks with ballistic missiles of maple flavored products.

As for the headliner - nope. But it's all out in one of the garages somewhere.... If you've not been on in a while, I've moved north too! I'm back in Iowa. The short story is that I rebroke my leg and had no one around to help. Then, when I went back to work I was having to work all the time. I'd had enough of working as much as I had to so I started looking around. I took a job back at the U of Iowa hospital, sold my house in Georgia and bought one here. The selling point: a 24x35 steel building, a 19x28 brick garage, a 20x23 car port, and a 32x48 heated garage. I was able to use the equity in the house down there to buy this place outright which negated the pay cut I took. It seemed like a no brainer!

Now, the fan - I don't remember what brand of fan I bought, but it works well. I looked for the most CFM I could get that would fit the radiator. If I had to do it all over again, I think I'd look for a twin fan set up. The reason being is that the bolts on the nose of the water pump kissed one of the mounting screws for the fan to the shroud. As for mounting it, I used the zip tie attachments that they sent with it. Hopefully someone offers a dual fan setup with a shroud that you could bolt in, I think that would probably make things a little easier if/when you ever need to pull the radiator.

key fob was unreliable and I changed coin battery a bunch. Bought a switch kit to use instead but that hasn't happened.
Still had my fun... Did tick a little bit and the yearly inspection guy commented exhaust leak but didn't really look.
Haven't driven in a while now hope it still functions. I didn't expect long life so ...Thumbs up...

Thanks both of you. I'll keep the advice in mind. It makes me smile to come on here see all the projects going on. I haven't done much work on my car...but have really enjoyed driving it around on nice days. I was having issues with soft brake pedal for about an 1-1/2" travel. So I replaced all of the rear brake assemblies. The only thing that was reused from the restoration. After that was done I had the same problem. I had to channel my youth and was thinking about how many rear drums I'd worked on and never had an issue. The first time was when I was 16 and Dad told me I could drive my Mom's 62 Falcon if I would change the brakes. So he helped me learn how to do that. The last thing we did was to tighten up the rears as tight as they could go. Of course I was baffled because then the brakes were dragging all the time. He said for me to trust him and take a trip about 100 miles and then come back as see if they were still dragging. Amazing that. So, with that in mind I did the same to the Cobra II and problem solved.
You're going to love the heated garage. I know I love mine. I keep it about 40 degrees during the winter unless I'm working on something. Otherwise my minnows die and stink up the place.
I sometimes lurk on the site to see what's happening although I don't like just showing up and being a smart ass. But I'll be sure to check in occasionally.
I've been watching the Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament for the last three days and feel the urge to go fishing so Tomorrow I'm driving out on the ice and send a few Minnows loose to see what they can do.

My brake pedal has been feeling a bit spongy lately, wonder if I'll need to get into that too.... I just figured maybe it's because I've not driven it much and I'm just used to my truck or something. Or, the thought crossed my mind that maybe I've got some seals going bad somewhere. Afterall, the brakes haven't been touched in over 20 years. Either way, I really need to dig into them and get them straightened out now that I'll have the time to actually drive it more.

Speaking of that, it was such a nice day that I took it out of the garage yesterday. All I really did was drive it around the block and ran the little bit of gas out of it that was left in the tank. In fact, after I got to the front of the house it wouldn't make it back out of the driveway! So I emptied the Stabil treated fuel I have set aside for my mowers and snowblower into it. Went and pulled it back around to the back and floored it for a second once I got around the corner. It left 2 black streaks for probably 20 feet - felt good to get it out and on the road....
