Are our cars supposed to have air deflectors on the bottom?

On a related note, has anyone made a chin spoiler for their 94-95? I made one out of thin gauge aluminum this last week. It was made to emulate old school Mach 1's chin spoilers, where it jutted way forward at the bottom (I had to do this for clearance issues and I like the look). But I didnt leave it on the car because I couldnt meld the sides of it to meet the OEM little 'wings' that flank the stock deflector. So from the side, it didnt look right.
I'll say that I thought it really made the front end look mean - it brought the 'center of attention' downward and made the front end look lower and more aggressive.

Paul, I was disappointed enough that it was only on the car for a few mins. It just didnt 'fit in' well enough. It would have taken a lot of manipulation of the metal to try and make it look good. I'm thinkin that fiberglass might be easier to work with - given the shape and radii needed (I'd wrap it all the way around the bumper to the wheel well).
