Arrg i hate this low engaging.. clutch help

ok i have posted this before with no help. i did a 5 speed swap:king cobra clutch, SVO quadrant, 5.0 pedals,t5Z Adjustable cable.

heres the problem, the clutch engages veeery low, i think its because the adjustable cable is bottomed out. if this cable is too long (not stretched) you think a stock one will fit? i want this fixed! lol

Define "bottomed out".....some guy i know was adjusting his cable trying to get it to let out lower but it just let out at the dead top, he was adjusting it in the wrong direction. I've got the same clutch setup as you have and mine won't stay low enough. I'm getting a firewall adjuster to lower it down some, i like my clutch to let out kinda low so i don't have to press it in so far.

Also, what cable do you have? Don't buy ANY aftermarket cable, i don't care who makes it, they're all junk. Buy a genuine Ford OEM cable. Better yet, get this combo from Maximum Motorsports: http://www.maximummotorsports.com/cq.asp#cables, and then there's this jewel which is at the TOP of my purchase list http://www.maximummotorsports.com/CL-7.asp. Hope that helps.

I THINK he is referring to the same problem I am encountering right now. Underneath the car, the adjustable cable is adjusted so far out that the metal crimping at the end of the cable is hitting against the clutch cable casing when the pedal is pressed down.

The only reason I got this adj. cable is because my stock one wasen't long enough for my old King Cobra. I'm eventually going to give my stock cable a try being that it is shorter than the one I have right now for my new Centerforce.

85_SS_302_Coupe- I made my own Pedal Adjuster out of a metal L bracket which I drilled a hole into 1 end and bolted it to my steering column stud sticking down. I bent the metal until the pedal hit the bracket I bolted on at the spot I wanted. This took up unnecessary freeplay in my pedal too...
