I'm about 1 hour away from finish my head install. This is driving me nuts!!

I'm swapping out the stock E7s for some GT40X heads. The problem I am having is this: the bolt holes for the accessory brackets on the front of the head, which are the same shape and design as the EGR ports on the back end of the head, are too big for the accessory bolts. After some investigation, it appears as though my stock E7s have what look like heli-coils tapped into the ports on the front of the heads, and can fit the accessory bolt. On one of the GT40X heads, the heli-coil-thing is there, and the accessory brackets can bolt up. On the other head, however, no such coil exists, so the bolt just slides in and out of the head without catching any of the threads.

I bought the heads used, and it appears as though the former owner may have accidentally pulled one of the coil-thread-thingies out when he was taking the heads off.

I've tried to pull the ones out of my stock E7s, but they wont budge. I have 2 hours to finish this, and WANT IT DONE!!!!

Can anyone point me in the right direction on getting this finished? Does anyone know the part number for this coil-adapter thingie?

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Take your bolt down to the parts store and get the heli-coil you need.

The thing I'm worried about with that route is: 1) Don't I need to drill out the hole before I insert the helicoil? If so, I don't know if I want to potentially destroy the heads in the process. 2) I don't want to buy a heli-coil and find that, while it fits over the bolt, it doesn't fit into the air injection port.

Is the threaded insert in the head a relatively common part?

Thanks for the response - I appreciate it.
