Whatsup guys
I just had about a 4 hour argument about a Mach 1. Lol. He says that a Mach 1 can't do 12.9 stock, when I've read about it, and this guy named Paul did it I think. He also says that a stock Mach can't get into the twelves with just drag radials, when I've heard many people say it can. This guy owns an RSX so he might think that most commentary in reference to this question is biased so please be as straight forward and honest as possible. Links, track times, etc. are all more than welcome and would be great if anyone had them. I'm also told him that if one got a blower for under 2k and added supporting stuff to the car up to that 2k point that it could in fact run in the 11's. I was quick to say this. I definately know that with an average blower at 2.6k that a mach will go into the 11's. Is there any way that a Mach would go into the 11's with 2k invested? I saw that the Vortech mustang in the motor trend article did a qm in the 11s and it had a blower that made 180 hp. Exactly how fast would a stock mach be with 4.10, 4.30, or 4.56 gears and drag radials? I like the Mickey Thompson Drags by the way...haha... Again proof for statement is great for comments. I said that an MGW shifter, 4.10s, and some drag radials would automatically get you in the twelves. If someone, the guy that I swear I read about running a 12.9 on a stock Mach, can run a 12.9 stock, then I'd like to see what they'd do with that setup that I mentioned. Reel in the commentary.

Radials....what are they worth?

Also, how many tenths with a decent to good driver, or even a bad driver lol, do you guys think that radials help eliminate from the quarter? I saw an episode of horsepower today where chuck was in the 13s on that camero they're workin on and then got in the 11s when he changed to radials.

Evan Smith of MM@FF got a 12.97 out of an '03 Mach afew years back when they first came out. I think the only thing he did was put a set of drag radials on it.

Actually, I just read yesterday on the Mach 1 Registry that someone actually ran in the 12.8s with a completely stock Mach.

I saw a video a while back of a guy with Zinc Yellow Mach running either 12.5 or 12.6 in his car. All he had was a Mac Prochamber, K&N drop in filter, and Nitto drag radials.

Don't have any links or anything for you, though, sorry. LOL

Motor Trend ran a 13.2 stock in there Feb 2005 issue.

Check this link:

and this one

For $2000 you can definetly get the car into the 12's. Cheapest way is to spray, gears and slicks.

Also, you have to remember that the track and altitude you're at is gonna play a big factor in your times. The place where I live doesn't have the best of either so you'll never see any record setting times coming out of here.

I ran 13.8 in my car a couple of weeks after I had gotten it. The guy who owned it before me just put on a Pro 5.0 shifter, and I swapped out the stock rims/tires for my black Bullitts with some 275 BFGoodrich KDWS tires. The tires weren't any stickier than stock, but they were a little wider so i'm sure it probably helped some. My 60ft. time was 2.11..... my best ET was on those same tires with my current mods, and that's 13.6 with a 2.09 short time. The track here should hopefully be opening up this next spring, and I'm hoping to run some 13.2s or so with some slicks. I know that where I live, 12s aren't really possible without some serious mods.... but I am certain that if I went to Houston where the track is better prepped and it's at sea level, I could bust out some 12s as my car sits right now.

I ran a 13.53 at Norwalk in July. That was with a 4.30 gear and a tune from Paul Svinicki. (1.94 60 ft.) With a little seat time and cooler weather I think 2-3 tenths quicker would be possible on the original tires. A 12 sec. e.t. would be pretty tough to obtain in a truly "stock" (untouched in any way) Mach1 in even the best altitude and weather conditions.

Engine Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
