I recorded a good clip of it revving, I'll need to still do one while driving, but I still need a good place to do it. I have to say though, I love the way it sounds. I hope you enjoy the video/smoke show my car gives. Yes, it's running quite rich. I still have some work to do with jetting it.

For those with high speed internet, go here: http://www.starshadow.com/~gael/mustangiiexhaustrev.wmv (18 megs)

For those with dialup internet who want video, go here: http://www.starshadow.com/~gael/mustangiiexhaustrev-small.wmv (3.1 megs)

For those with super crappy dialup who want just audio, go here: http://www.starshadow.com/~gael/mustangiiexhaustrev.mp3 (496k)

Yeah, I finally passed emissions, took 5 tries. For visual, I needed the air pump, and some 'check valve' and other various crap attached to it. I can take pics of the setup that I had. I think they were leniant with me, cause there's no way it should've passed visual ever, but that's ok.

Here's the rundown.

Attempt 1: Failed visual, passed sniffer
Attempt 2: Failed visual, didn't take the sniffer test
Attempt 3: Passed visual, failed sniffer (too high on hydrocarbons)

Took my car to an emissions shop to tune my car

Attempt 4: Passed visual, failed sniffer (too high on Carbon Monoxide)
Attempt 5: Passed visual, passed sniffer.

Here is my car's setup.
  • 351w block, stroked to 393ci
  • Forged crank, forged pistons, forged h-beam rods
  • Canfield aluminum cylinder heads
  • Edelbrock RPM Air-Gap intake
  • Holley 800cfm carburetor with a Proform body and base.
  • Compcams XE274H cam (1800-6000 rpm range)
  • Ron Davis aluminum radiator
  • Moroso 7 quart oil pan
  • MSD 6AL ignition box, MSD Blaster 2 coil, MSD distributor
  • Hooker headers: 1 5/8" primaries 3" collectors
  • Full 3" exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers, high flow catalytic converters, and x-pipe.
  • T5 transmission with a Steeda Tri-Ax shifter
  • 3.55:1 posi rear end
  • Optima red top battery

Nice very nice, You just helped me out with my decision on the exhaust for my 351, how much did the flowmasters cost? and you wouldn't happen to have a part # by chance? Thanks
John
PS my 351W is getting a COMP XE294H oh man, oh man...

Yeah, it's a full magnaflow system.

The 3" x-pipe is part #10792
The 3" mufflers I'm running are offset/center, part # 11259
The 3" catalytic converters I'm running are the 93500 series, I believe.

Pretty much all of this stuff is on magnaflow's site. as for price, i got a good deal from a guy locally.. jegs sells the mufflers, i think you could probably find the rest on ebay pretty easily.

Routing it was a bit of a pain, so as I'm sure you know, be ready for lots of customization.

No track yet, I plan to within a few months. I'm going on vacation in a few days, so I won't be able to for a while. Once I'm back I want to install my subframes, do an oil change, get a few more miles on it, dyno it, then race it.

Then later on, get better tires.
