Average Milage from a Stock Water Pump?

As a general rule water pumps should be replaced at 65,000 miles.

Service intervals are b.s. lol. It's all about making money, that's why they recommend things being replaced before they break. Mines got almost 100K on it... flows like a champ still! Knock on wood!

Try wiring your fan to a manual switch so you can control it. If it has a set temp sensor switch it might not be coming on at a good temp for you.

Seriously, how is it doing now? Ramjet's idea is great if you are overheating while stationary and dont think the fans are coming on early enough.

i got 103,000 miles on the stock pump, which is very similar to the rest of the world. it seems ford has designed for the 5.0L to fall apart @ 100,000 miles. because this is the milage for the average throughout bearing and fuelpump
