axle back or catted x

[Bolt on 5.0]

Hey guys, Ive been reading alot about the exhaust for our cars. Cant really decide, but I know I need somthing. The cars a '07 Gt, all stock and way to quiet. From what I read there is not alot of HP gain from the axle back systems. Does the high flow catted x make a good noise increse? I def want to keep the cats and figured if a high flow h sound alot louder it would be worth it instead of just buying mufflers that only make it louder.

with cats, you won't get the sound you are looking for, sorry, but offroad is the only way to wake up these cars. i still run the factory h pipe with Stingers and it's still too quiet, except for the interior drone at 2000 rpm...

u wont get much of a gain in hp from aftermarket axlebacks. adding an x pipe will definitely give u more of a "pop" at high rpms and the drone soothes the savage beast at highway speeds. u may or may not like the "raspyness" of the x pipe, i personally have grown to love it, especially when my 8 year old son begs me to pick him up from school in the "stang". anyway, this is a sound clip from the inside of my car(bassani full setup w/ x pipe and hi flo cats) http://www.youtube.com/ecyrb72

thanks guys, and that bassani clip sound pretty nice. Ill look into that. I am not looking for too loud, and cant get rid of cats, to much pain with emmissions here in NY.

i had the cats off my bassani x-pipe and loooved the way it sounded with the stock exhaust had to put the hi-flow cats on it that came with the x-pipe and it sounds JUST like the stock exhaust if you're looking just for sound get axel backs I can personally tell you it won't make one bit of difference with the hi flow cats
