B&M Hammer Shifter for 4.6 Autos!?

B&M will tell you it doesnt work...
but I have installed 2 so far one in a 2001 and one in an 03 Mach 1
they work fine..and look great...
the only thing I dislike it they are very lower and a bit forward more...
so you will have to alter you driving position to fit the shifter..
but other than that great..and you can never bang into the wrong gear...

Here is a pic of it in a 99+ car. I got it from these forums a while back. I love the look of it. I'm looking at getting it myself. Hopefully next month. So, with this shifter, do you need to have a manual valve body? or is it that the shifter will make shifting better if you have a manual valve body, because of it's 'ratchet' shifting. I'm just looking at replacing my stock shifter with it, not changing any other parts of the tranny yet. Hope I have no problems with it. Although I've heard its an easy install.

is it possible to have the "ratchet action" but have a new knob? or is the knob the key to the whole thing?

i like the mgw knobs better with the mustang and the colored background
