I've had a buddy break the handle off on two of those. Just FYI.

How do you rip the handle off? I had one and they seem well built.

I think they're junk... but that's just my opinion. Mine wanted to act like it was mis-aligned or something. I can easily see how somebody could break it.

Would you say all the b&m shifter are junk or just the quicksilver?

I have a b&m pro stick reverse valve body and I love it.(c-4) I run mid 11's soon to be mid 10's and never had any problems. I also have a quicksliver in my 79 pickup mild 460 c-6 and never had any problems, but I don't race it. later

My experience was only with the Quicksilver... I can't comment on their other shifters.

Also, only B&M experience was with the quicksilver. The first one was a new one, the second was a used one. Both busted on the street during "spirited" driving using the ratchet feature. I was in the passenger seat both times. This was over ten years ago, maybe the design is better. There wasn't an excessive amount of force used either, just using the heal of the hand to bump it up, both snapped off in the shifter body, flew up, hit the ash tray and fell into the passenger floor at my feet. It now has a modified stock shifter that has a ratchet action.

That makes all the difference in the world! Its worth at least as much as you paid for it. I hope it works for you... I like the looks of the Quicksilver...

A chassis builder friend die grinded the nibs off that keep it in that gear, only problem is, you have to have a light touch, or you'll miss second and hit third. Now if he'd had that light a touch before, the Q/S would probably still be in the car He only ground off the 1st and 2nd gear nibs, left the 3rd on there to keep it from going to neutral.

This is as clear as I can remember it, it was over ten years ago after all.

i think it looks pretty good to or i would have told him to keep it. i am also thinking about going to the mega shifter handle just cuz it looks comfy. but does any one know if it will go in my car with my bench seat which was the hole point of the thread, not that the rest of it was useless just would like to know if it will go.
