Thanks guys,

i'm glad the bottom of the core support was untouched it made our lives easier but just cutting the original. I did the same repair on a 90 GT and it included the bottom piece. Other than the front end damage the car is in great shape a little elbow grease and some patience it's going to be a good driver. Car has 51k miles and I paid $1200 so it was worth fixing imo.

Nice work man. It was definitely worth it. 51K? Nice

Any tips for stripping this thing without damaging the bumper? I wanted to stick with a oem bumper but this thing has crack paint and it’s proving to be difficult to clean up.

Id take a 180 sanding disk and a DA and get that area feathered out and see what it looks like. The 180 wont damage the plastic.

Did you find a bumper cover too, or are you just repairing the original cover?

No blasting experience at all. I ended up feathering back all the trouble spots, came out good.

couple updates,

starting to put things back together. waiting on some parts to come in and just doing some wire tucking as well as replacing a lot of the old brittle hoses The immediate goal is to get the car running before we finish the body work, most of the damaged panels have already been replaced so there really is only a couple dings here and there.

**Few updates** some body work done and a few misc items taken care of. Waiting on some parts this week I have about 90% of everything to get this thing running. My goal over the next couple weeks is to get the car running and the middle of July spray the car so roughly August I should be driving this thing fingers cross. Summer weekends get busy with random picnics and parties.

Some more pics,

Have 90% of the motor back together, I still have to punch the oil pan, run the cold side, figure out if I want to load a simple tune to get it running so I can drive it onto a trailer and back it out of my garage or go all out with the full tune, fill it with fluids and it should be ready to start.

I ran into a few minor issues with the On3 supplied 90 degree elbow as it was a tad too small for the 70MM Throttle body I also had to modify the AC condensor brackets for the mock fitting of the intercooler it requires slightly more modification to get the kit to work with AC but very doable. Other than those couple snags i pretty impressed with the On3 kit.

I spent a good 4 hours DA'ing the front bumper to prep for paint and we have a few more full days of body work before we can filler prime and block the car.

Anyone have any paint experience on brands? we painted the engine bay with Nason but my buddy says it sprays a bit thin and recommended Chromabase for the exterior since it covers and over all quality is better however it's about $400 more for my paint code.

loong overdue updates,

Car is now running, it obviously needs to be tuned but I changed some minor preliminary settings in Tunerstudio just to get it running. The bodywork continues, more than likely i'll be buying the rest of the paint this week and shooting for getting the jambs, tops of the fenders and underneath the hood painted so I can reassemble the car to be filler primed. I've slowed down a bit as i'm not in a huge hurry the car won't be on the road this year planning on taking it out in the spring of 20' when it's completely done.

here are few more pics

some more updates, was wanting to get the car in filler primer but ran into a few issues with the fender and a ton more body work surprises, maybe next week?

We got all the body panels on and "somewhat" lined up had to trim the front bumper some due to the intercooler hitting, The passenger side fender i picked up at Carlisle ford nationals was full of body filler didnt notice when i bought it but that had to be stripped and will need some more work. My next steps are to strip the hood, source some studs for the header panel don't think they sell these, finish the body work on the fender/bumper.

I started sourcing parts for my 5-lug conversion i have a couple wheels choices in mind and might pull the trigger over the next couple weeks since the car won't be on the road till next year I have plenty of time to get the odds and ends done.

I was also able to finally back it out of the garage for the first time since installing the turbo, also the first time i've actually moved the car under it's own power since the car was towed to my house in January. making some progress!

on to the pics,
