just out of curiosity, '65 mustangs had backuplights on the rear valence, and passenger side sideview mirrors correct? becuase for some reason, mine does not. It also doesn't have the side mouldings in the scoup area. I'm just wondering about when in '65 my car was made, the only thing i have is the vin # because some idiot PO removed the data plate.

Well, mines a 66, and I don't have backuplights or a passenger side mirror.

I believe they were options maybe?

Because in parts catalogs, u can buy rear valences with holes for backuplights, or w/o. And my passenger door does not have any holes that suggest a side mirror was originally there.

I always thought they were options ? lol but I'm just guessing

Go here:

It breaks down the options and standard equipment. Reversing lights became standard in '66. Not sure about door mirrors - I've got my Red Book at home, if I remember, I'll dig it out and have a look - bear in mind I'm going out for a few beers tonight...I might forget!

BU lights were optional in 65, and so was the passengers side mirror.
