bad IAC???

car is wormed up... i drive, then when i have to come to a complete stop from, lets say, 2000 rpms should go down to idle, 900, but instead it goes to 1200 and then after 3-5 seconds goes to 900 and idles.. is it my IAC bad? yesterday i took it apart and cleand it with some breaks cleaner, the rod that sits inside... i thought it might help but didn't help much... any idea what might be???

Don't rule out the TPS being bad either. You also might have a small vacuum leak somewhere.

if you take off the IAC, will you need a new gasket when putting it back on?

i didn't need a new one, mine it's a rubber gasket....

I've got somewhat the same problem as you except a little different. So in my case don't rule out a sticking TB cable. But yes run tests on the TPS sensor as that is the problem in a lot of cases.
