Wonderful. I got out and was messing with the stopscrew on the TB to help with the idle, and I heard this horrible knocking noise coming from underneath the valve cover. I'm sure it's a rocker loose, but this is f***ing ridiculous. It's knocking BAD too! I'm surprised I haven't thrown a god damned rod. What a piece of sh**.

A loose rocker will not make you throw a rod, calm down, you can fix it, but yea it sucks, i just had one the other weekend after i went to the track, on the way home it started running like ****, i knew the sound right away.

I meant a pushrod, surely a loose enough rocker can back off and spin around, then it's bye-bye pushrod, valve over, intake manifold, lol. My friend had this happen to him on his 95 GT.

what would suck is if the rocker completely came off on one of your exhaust valves and poof, there goes that headgasket. your rockers shouldnt have come loose if you have polylocks on them. if you need advice on adjusting the valves and stuff, just give me a buzz

Are you sure it's a loose rocker? Do you still have the smog pump or a delete pulley? My tensioner is knocking because I don't have a smog delete pulley. Just something to check before you pull off the valve covers. :)

Allan, thanks for the offer, although I know how to set them. Looks like I just didn't get one tightened down good enough.

Mike, I no longer have the smog pump, and I don't have a delete pulley either. I guess it could be the tensioner, but it sounded like it was coming from the rear of the valve cover. I'll definitely look when I get off work though.
