i am in the middle of purchasing this midpipe from another boardmember on here. i know with my modular mustang and some chambered mufflers it was very raspy and loud. i guess u would say it kind of sounded like a rattling tin can inside the mufflers. now most people hate it but i liked it. sounded almost exotic. what i am wandering is will it sound anywhere similar on a 5.0? i am hoping to get that raspyness with this gt i have now, but dont know if they have the same tone with a pushrod motor they have with a modular. i know these two styles of motor sound very different, and this is what makes me wander if it will sound similar. thanks

no it does not have any cats on it. it is an off road midpipe. i am just into the the whole droning-pipe thing, and am hoping this helps eliminate at least some of that as well. i may put in some dynomax race bullitts and ditch the flowmasters. i like the way those sound.

The 5.0 sound with that midpipe will be much deeper but will still be raspy. 5.0's sound AWESOME with chambered mufflers and offroad X pipes.

im not sure but i think hes correct, will just see tho down the line how my straight thru magnaflows sound with an X, i definately will have clips when i upgrade my mid pipe

sounds good igotyofire, i am going with the same basic set up and will also try and get some sound clips. ifor the price i am going to pay for the x-pipe i am going to go ahead and get it. wont be losing much.

I've got the bassani X-pipe and dynomax bullets and i don't like the way it sounds. loud and raspy but sounds like junk below 3000rpm, Go with flows. The 4.6 has a bit crisper sounding note IMO but the 5.0 is definately deeper and badder sounding.
