Well, after a long weekend of wiring and custom fitting, we have my JL 10W7 custom system and battery re-location complete. Special thanks to my ded for all the custom work and upolstery on the custom boxes...he is amazing!
I am disappointed to say that I have not yet heard the effects of the sub due to the fact that the JL wiring kit I bought for this system sent a 100 AMP fuse, and the manual for the 500/1 JL amp calls for a 50 AMP. I am hesitant to hook it up, so I will have a fuse couriered tomorrow. I am pleased with the final look, and the car started right up like a champ with the battery re-location kit by Taylor.
Here are the pics that were promised earlier this month:

I have custom carpeted emblems of JL and 10W7 coming but we ran out of time to get them done. They will be mounted in front of the boxes on the trunk floor in the matching carpet.

Does anyone know if the 100 AMP fuse will be acceptable for this system, or is it risky? I am new to this car audio game.

Thanks for any input that you can share.

100 amp will be fine. You just need to make sure you will not overload the fuse....like using a 5 amp fuse on your 500/1. The fuse is there just in case there is a short to ground caused by a wire rubbing against metal, or one coming loose from the amp/battery/etc. I have a 300/4 and a 500/1 and am using a 150 amp fuse....

Sweet set up. I got the same sub and amp. It sound fuggin awesome.

One question tho.. ..how is your car doing for rattles?? Mine rattles like no other...spoiler flaps and bends so much it looks like it's commin off and the interior is near vibrating to pieces.

look great-
wher did ya get the batt. relocation kit ?

The re-location kit is a Taylor and it was easy to work with. I got it from my speed shop DaSilva Racing in Toronto, Ontario. Brothers performance sells them in the US.

I am running the stock Mach 460 system, and then just adding the JL amp and sub for some filler. I am not going for crazy bass or anything like that.

JLs rule. problem is: I anchored my box (with 2 10w0s) to the two thick plastic pieces that come down from my Mach 360 amp rack... and snapped the plastic during an autocross. YAY!

Bet that will sound real good. :nice:

That is one of the nicest, cleanest yet quite complicated to do
trunk set up I have seen. How much in our money does the battery kit cost? This include box, wires and directions? That is a sharp deal man, looks fantastic.

Looks nice. I wish to god I could afford one of those subs. :( I bet it sounds good. Looks very nice. :nice:

I need to finish my system off with Sirius and take some picts. All my pictures are always "under construction" type stuff.

Hey guys, while we're on the subject. Do you all have capacitors? I have over 1000 watts pushing my speakers. 2 500/1's for the subs, 1 300/2 for the highs... would a Cap be good in my situation.. or am I fine how I have it setup right now? PS - Just got a ground installed that acts as another amp to extract battery power more efficently. It sounds way more cleaner. So, would anyone say that I NEED a cap? I honestly don't want to get one unless I need to. Thanks guys.
