idk but i had a hell of a time getting the stock dipstick back in after my mac longtube install. i ended up having to bend it around the headers just to get it down there and had to hammer it in, and i still dont think its in all the way.

You will need to kinda tap on it to get it back in you know. But no bending at all, if you got the same one I had back them. That nice shorty chrome FRPP dipstick.

I HAVE THE LOKAR, don't buy it, it wont fit with my shorty headers, so i couldn't imagine it fitting with anything, and i paid 40$ for it too.

thanks for the help guys, I tried tapping on it with no luck.
It was getting late though maybe i'll have better luck tonight. Anyone ever take some sand paper and very lightly sand down the size of it then try it or would this be bad?

I kinked my stock one trying to get it on, its the only thing holding me up. Should I get the FMS one, a stock replacement and be more careful, or a fox body dipstick?

The FMS one , is actually for the fox body, if you look at the years listed for it...

http://store.summitracing.com/partd...750-C303&N=4294853971+400070+115&autoview=sku

Back then, I tried to bend the stocker. It broke. I then bought the LOKAR. It broke trying to put it in !! Big piece of crap. I decided to buy that chrome shorty one and it fit PERFECTLY without doing any bends to it. I dont understand how you could have any troubles tring to install it..

As mentioned before be careful bending the stock unit. I bent mine to get it to fit and put a kink in it that turned into a hole. First pass at the strip there was so much oil pressure that oil blew out of that hole and onto the header getting me kicked off the track.

I bought a LOKAR also. What a piece of **** for the $$$. Once I got it in, every time i checked the oil I would have to dick with it for like 15 minutes to get it back in -- would get stuck part of the way in

Thru which tubes does the FMS goes between and can it be bolted to the header bolts?

Yes it can be bolted to the header. No problem at all. Now this is with the stock engine, shorty headers pic. Same thing as longtubes...It goes in the same place.

Wow, I've heard ALL good things about the Lokar one .... until this thread. Now I'm kind of skeptical. And I was going to order it here soon.

With my Mac LT's and using the same header bolt mount location

All I had to do was bend my stock tube a very slight amount and it was good to go.

Don't know what the deal is with you guys and Lokar but my dipstick from them has worked just fine. I did have to bend it a little because of the main support but otherwise it fit perfect. IMHO Lokar makes some really nice stuff, when I did my fox throttlebody conversion I used a Lokar throttle cable and EFI bracket and I couldn't be happier.

I just installed my Mac LT's and used the stock dipstick. I just fished it in before bolting the header on. No problems at all
