BBK or MAC headers? or keep cobra headers (HELP!)

I have a 94 Cobra that is getting several upgrades,

One of them will be Edelbrock performer heads

I figure now is the time to do Headers, whats your guys opinions

(long tubes are not an option nor are equal length Delaware emmisions/PITA install/dont wanna buy a shortie x/h pipe)

A. BBK polished ceramic shorties
B. MAC ceramic coated shorties
c. Keep the stock Cobra Steel headers as there is nothing to be gained from BBK or MAC other then looks?

is there a gain to be had with mac/bbk over stock cobra headers?

Thanks in advance guys!:hail2:

i like mac, but either will be fine. some will say stay away from mac because they are individual flanges and they warp but that was not my experience with them. mine have been on and off the car sevral times with no problems. i think the cobra headers are the same as the gt so you will see a gain over the stockers.

The option "C"

After market shortys are gonna give you a gain over the oem exhaust manifolds, no doubt about it.

When talking about shortys, I think it is six one way, half a dozen the other, between Mac & BBK.

You will get poo poo's and praise from peeps who use each brand.

The performance between the two is gonna be very close.

Cobra's come stock with shorties. However, they are pinched really bad at the opening, and just by looking at aftermarket shorties you can tell they will flow much better throughout. I put my shorties on at the same time as the o/r h pipe, so I'm not exactly sure how much of the gain was from the headers, but if you've got the heads off, you may as well put some on. They can be had cheap used (pm me if you're interested- see sig).

I would get BBK's. MAC's ceramic coating is junk, they will still rust. Also, get some wire protectors. The new shorties will be bulkier than stock, so the plug wires get hot. If they twist and turn while your driving, you might melt one or more of them. Also, I helped a friend install shorties on a 95 GT, and there was no gain.
