NAWZ!!!!

For future reference, it's N2O. Or nitrous. Or nitrous oxide. I can't stand it when people say NAWS. NOS is an abbreviation for Nitrous Oxide Systems .... a name brand.

Stupid movies ......

Anyway, with that budget, you can do pretty much what you want. Check out the FAQ in this section that was referred to already. There are some combo's listed that might peak your interest.

The Tweecer R/T is a popular self-tuner that alot of our members here use. I will be using one myself when the time comes.

Sorry for leaving so many gaps when I asked that question, I wasnt sure about all the parts. I have 17 grand to work with but I dont want to spend it on mistakes. Here is all that I have in mind so far:

-DSS 331 Level 20 upgrade
-Vortech Super Charger ( 8-10 psi )
-AFR heads ( 165, 185, 205 ? )
-Cam ( I dont know what size to get )
-Intake ( Performer RPM ? )
-42# Injectors
-Throttle Body ( 75mm ? )
-Mass/Air Meter ( C&L 76mm ? )
-Performance Automatic AOD
-Aluminum Drive Shaft
-9" rearend
-3.73 gears
-Optima Battery
-MSD Distributor
-Fludyne Radiator
-Aeromotive Fuel System

Thats all I know of off hand, if im leaving something off or something would work better as a daily driver feel free to let me know. I will talk all the advice I can get! Thanks for all of your help!

man, for $17000 the options are endless.....im about $10000 into mine right now with the current project and there isnt much else to buy. call chp and tell them what you are looking to do with the car. they will work you up a quote to suit your goals.

for an idea, you can see my old quote here.....

http://www.rmdperformance.com/mustang/Roger.pdf

the only difference between what is listed there and what i finally got are the forged crank, romac balancer, and 61cc 185's. that motor plus a full tko600 swap and a ton of steeda suspension stuff is where i am at now right around the $10000 mark. with your budget you could build a killer setup. it just seems like you need to sit down and actually figure out what your goals are with the car.

for 17k i would buy a 351w dart block stroke it out to a 418. then slap a big @$$ shot of nitrous on it. beefed up c4, 9" rear and slicks. and still have some money left over....

Green 94 5.0 - I think my goal is kinda simple, nothing extreme. Just a reliable daily driver that can run low 12s or high 11s or just enough power to run with 2003 camero SS with a super charger and a 2003 Trans AM with nirtous. Thats what runs the streets in my town. Plus id like ot be able to run with the newer cars like the new charger or mustang GT. And its always nice to make the rice burners feel dumb especially when their girl is in the car with them.

ProKiller - That sounds like a good idea but I want this car to be a daily driver and pass emissions.

you can easily have a reliable 11-12 second car with a high compression 347 with supporting tranny mods (high stall converter, shift kit, valve body, etc) and the correct suspension setup. you will be well within your 17k budget with that type of setup.

Talk to Eric at Coast High Performance. Tell him exactly what you want from your motor/performance. He knows his stuff. That guy built a 600 hp supercharged fox body daily driver that..........PASSED EMISSIONS!

Thanks for all your adivce. I emaild CHP and DSS and told them what I was looking for in my engine. Do you have any suggestions about an automatic transmission, stall converter, and gears? Im thinking about getting a daily driver and making my mustang a weekend toy since I will have to have a way to get to work with no problems.
