Bellhousing/ spacer plate issues

I am FINALLY having someone put my car together for me since I am working horrible hours at my business. But we have run into a problem with the spacer plate and the bellhousing not lining up and need the forums help. The combonation is a T-56 that we have modified to use an early bellhousing and the block is late model but as the picture shows the "starter open" in the plate is way off. If anyone can help I would appreciate it greatly.

As far as I've had experience with em, although the tooth count is different, the pitch is the same and any small block starter will work. The 164 tooth flywheel is larger in diameter than a 157 tooth, hence, the reason it's got more teeth.
