Some time ago I hit a pothole and bent two bullits. Today the tires and rims are still sitting in my garage. You think the tires are any good at all, or is there a chance the belts are broke? These tires have about 7thou of miles of use on them and I wana use them if they aren't damaged

Unless the rim is bent extremely bad and actually punctured the tire, they should be fine. A good tire shop would know best though.

For the pothole to have bent the rims they'd have to do it by compressing the sidewall between the rim and the edge of the pothole, right? If so, the tires probably are damaged but you never know. Look for any irregularities in the sidewall where the impact occured and have the tire shop inspect the insides of the tires too. It's probably worth trying them; if a belt has broken you'll know about it in time.

the only thing they can really look at is if there was visual damage..the one thing they cant check, is to see if the tire is still 100% circular, but thats easy to find out once you filled it up with air, if it isnt, it wont hold air once your car puts pressure onto it :nice:
