Dude,your Probe pistons have the valve relieve for the TFS heads and the big valves.

Get the TFS "R" heads and have the bowls blended and a valve job done.

yeah i know im fine as far as the pistons are concerned......but the tfs r heads are pretty expensive!

yeah the good valve job is going to cost atleast $250, and then the portwork and it all adds up quick. I know there is a ton left in Mike's combo....

hay guys im planning to get the GT40 alum and i didnt here you guys saying anything about them are they good well good for my setup E cam typhoon 306 sorry to budge in but i realy need good ideas ohhh yea i want pedastool mount and i dont know what heads have what

Personally I would not buy any of the GT40 stuff, there are better heads for the money now. I would look at a TFS or a AFR165....

There NICE heads,but I think the canted valve desing would need a special piston?

Maybe not if its a small cam,but then your wasting the heads potenal as it flow big in the high lift range.

Not personaly,but from what Ive head the aluminium is good quality.I would like to know what kinda valve job they put on them,but Jegs does make good stuff.

i was told by the jegs guys that peeps that buy those kasse heads like em. he might have been just trying to sell em to me. i believe tricity heads has a victor jr knock off for quite a bit cheaper and i have heard good things about them.

True, better heads for the money depending on which aluminum GT40's you are talking about. If you are referencing these: http://forums.stangnet.com/showpost.php?p=5648901&postcount=56

for only $525 a pair, it is hard to beat a performance upgrade like that. Sure, you could port some E7s for around that much to flow about the same, but those are also aluminum, so losing weight off the front end too. Plus, those are capable of being ported as well. So, for the price of TW or AFRs, I am guessing you could buy those and have them ported to meet, if not beat the TW's or AFRs out of the box...like I said, just guessing, but I am sure someone on here could let ya know yes or no on that one.

WOW...that is cheap, I have never seen a Y303 that cheap. At that price it is a worthy upgrade depending on what the plans are for the future. However I would not spend $1000 plus on a GT40 head, like my statement was intended for.

GOOD portwork($varies) and a good valve job ($250+) would put them well over the cost of a AFR/TFS or even a Edelbrock head.

Criticman, I replied to your PM a few weeks ago but never heard back from you. I was interested in your proposal but wanted more details....

I got my Y303 aluminum heads a while back for 719 for the pair ....advice I can give on them is dont use an edelbrock RPM or typhoon intake with them you will lose alot of low end torque , but these heads with the cobra intake pulls like hell .........

I'm really pleased with my Y303 heads ($680).Definately port them though if you want them to flow anything remotely close to the AFR165's.These heads only flow tested 204/128 out of the box (don't believe the Ford Racing exaggerated #'s) but 224/151 after just bowl porting.Retains stock like low end torque.
