I have read that Mac makes overall poor quality anything.

I have a BBK Catted X pipe, with 1 5/8 Shorty headers, flowing through an American thunder 40 series Cat back system, and I love the tone.

I have also read that Bassani manufactures some of the best H/X pipes. But then they are very expensive.

One thing to note, I think, might want to ask around, or search this but...

I think that most all of these H/X pipes are made with Catco Catylitic Converters. So basically it comes down to a manufacturing thing.

My BBK parts were really nice. I can only imagine that Bassani is even better.

I would recommend Magnaflow. I have heard good things about Bassani but don't have any experience with them..

As far as MAC there stuff is great but definitely lacking in overall fit and finish for a show quality car. To be honest with you I didn't think BBK was much better and chose MAC headers because I could get ceramic (not that fake coating crap) for the same price.

Just my 2cents..

My BBK cats crumbled on me in less than a year.

Try VRS. They make great quality and great fitting exhaust.

Either MM&FF or 5.0 magazine had a comparo article in the last few months- best came out to Bassani's X-pipe with the hi-flow stainless substrate. VERY low restriction- single-digit if I recall correctly.

Depends on what money you're looking to spend, dude. If you happen to have a cash tree in your backyard, pick that sucker clean and make a phone call to Bassani. You'll pay a lot, but that thing will last a LONG time and sound excellent - all while keeping your HP loss to a minimum. I believe all of Bassani's stuff is stainless, too. I could be wrong though... not sure.

the new Bx line they came out with is aluminized, and definately more affordable (still expensive compared to some of the other brands though). However, all their other products are stainless.
