Here's a question, what is the best CAI out there for a 05 GT. I currently have a K&N, which I think I'm going to sell to get either a C&L or the JLT + a Tune. I'd like to hear from you guys on which one of these is better. Is the C&L really worth the extra $150? Not being cheap, I just want to get the best performance for the least price.

If you do a search you will find this thread has been on here a few times and everyone as their own personal reasons why one is better than another. With that said, I will throw my hat in the ring and say the Tunable Induction by DeMolet is one of the best piece out there! I still love mine and just today at the track got a few ricer drooling on it dreaming about getting a car that could use 4" of cold air intake! Just my two cents.

Billy Bob's Po' Boy Boom Tube Intake and Waffle Maker.

There is LITTLE difference in any of the known-brand intakes, 1-2 HP max.
The power/response is by far in the tune.

Pick one you like the looks of, that's what matters the most. Get your tune from Bama, Brenspeed, Tillman, EVO, etc, along with the intake of your choice.

I have the steeda instake and tune from brenspeed.

I called up Brenspeed before I purchased and he told me that there is pretty much no difference in any intake per their tests....

To each his own. I am happy with the steeda!

JLT...its real cheap and is one of the best for power. Plus you can get the intake painted to match your factory body color for $40.

I agree that the tune is way more important than the brand of intake. However, I got the C&L racer because it has a larger MAF that is worth a few hp if you get cams according to Brenspeed. Otherwise I would be more concerned with price/looks/quality.

Well, the C&L is easier to clean. The filter isn't right up next to the fender so there is only one band you have to loosen to take the filter off. The JLT you have to take it off the throttle body to get the filter off. It's just one more band that you have to loosen, but if you are looking at it from ease and what not, I would consider this.

Also, I'm selling my C&L here in a little bit since I'm putting a whipple supercharger on my car. It will not come with a tuner unless you want a predator (no extra charge) but I would recommend getting a SCT Xcal 3.

I can take my filter off without taking the band off of the TB, just the band that holds the filter to the intake tube. I've done it countless times, the last time being last weekend.

I got the WMS with Brenspeed tune. Nice all around. the WMS is a little bit more involved to install, but it came with good instructions and all the pieces that were needed. I like the way it looks (different then the other CAIs) and it also does not require a tune. So if you need to revert to the factory tune, mo problem.

I paid the big buck for a C&L and I dont care for the fit and finish of it. Everything works ok but to me it looks like someone cast it in their garage or something. I should have went with their plastic intake.

JLT + whatever tuner is accessible to your area. I ordered an SCT and it turns out the tuner of choice in Houston is diablosport.

I've heard strictly performance uses the SCT in Houston. Not too sure, haven't asked personally, but that's what my buddy said (he went there in his Mach and had a diablo). What tuners have you asked? This concerns me, since I'm most likely be looking to get mine tuned in Houston, when the time comes.

I've talked to Slater's Mustangs and Slater himself told me that just about all the tuners he knows in Houston work with Diablosport he knows most the owners around and their facilities.
