I know alot of people are dogging the Sumitomos but my set of Sumitomo HTR-ZII's on my old GT used to hook up pretty damn well. My 245 hooked better than the crappy ass 285 Kumho's that are on my car now. I plan to switch back to Sumi's in a few weeks

Im not dogging ALL Sumitomos, just the ones I have, which are the HTR+, ultra-high performance All seasons. I dont have any experience with their other models.

I have a set of Sumi HTRZ-II's on my car and after going ot the track twice (a total of 4 runs with little burnout, just enough to clean the tires) they turned into rocks. They slide all over the dam place now. Even on very rough pavement they spin like mad if i get on it a little.

I won't be purchasing any more of these tires.

I'm running Sumi HTR Z II 275/40/17's all around. I don't have experience with other tires other than the stock goodyears but these hook a hell of a lot better.

So... would the BFG KDW2's be a good tire? I'm just not sure which ones I want to get, but I really want to go with a 295/35 and see if I can get that thing to hook any better without going the Drag Radial route.. altho I wish I could get some

i only thought the Pilot Sport Cups came in a competition tyre variety. i have the Pilot Sport A/S on both my cars, plus i know they make the Pilot Sport and the PS2. i will definately be using the Pilot Sport Cups as track tyres though.

Which Sumitomo tire are you referring to?

I cannot remember the exact line (been 7 years ago), but they were on my '95 Cobra. Handled like crap in the rain, had a very short tread life, and emitted tons of odd road noise.
