Get the clutch and bell and all that bolted up, then hit it with the spline gauge, then get on your back on the ground with the trany next to you (i'm assuming you're poor like me and have to swap tranys on floor jacks). Then, roll to your side and put the trany to your chest and roll over with it, then pick it up and slide it in. It's nice if you have someone there to hold the tail of the trany in so you can bolt it up, but i've done it solo, it sucks but it can be done. Use a jack stand to prop the back up while youre putting bolts in.
