better gain?

Hey guys,

Just curious on what you think. I'm going to be getting an offroad x pipe. Would you see any more gain going with BBK's 2 3/4 inch x over just a normal offroad 2 /1/2 like pypes' x. CJponyparts got two extra tenths on their 05 when they swapped out their pypes voilators and x with bbks 2 3/4 x and borla stinger axle backs. Now do you think most the gains from the x being bigger or the axle back being more free flowing, or combo of the two?? Just been thinking about it lately if its worth the extra hundred bucks for the bbk over the pypes? Thanks

Honestly, 2 tenths doesn't mean anything. There's too many variations in track times to say something like that took time off their ET. I've seen plenty of 600HP+ cars running 2 1/2" exhaust. It's possible that it may give more power, don't get me wrong. But I'd love to see them try to prove it. If you're staying NA, I don't see any reason for anything over 2.5"

First of all 2 tenths is a world of time when on the strip. Also, Another poster claimed 22hp from a larger diameter catback. Cant say I agreed with that but I would say if that was true than a larger midpipe would have even greater gains.

2/10s is a big difference at the track, IF it is done on the same day with the same weather conditions. If not, it is near useless info. As far as the other poster, it turned out he gaind 12 HP from the exhaust and an additional 10 from a custom dyno tune.
