Anyone running these tires? They get pretty good reviews on TireRack. For $104 less per tire than GS-D3s, they are hard to pass on if they are as good as the reviews say they are. Only reason I was going to pass on the KDW2 is because of the road noise and treadwear.

Thanks!

they will be good tires. i have kdw2's all around and even in the rain i cant get the rear to kick out like it did with whatever crap tires came with the car, i had to pop the clutch in 1st to send the rear out, and it only went so far and grabbed and almost sent me into the guardrail.

on dry pavement i can launch equal with my buddies 20g wrx.

BFGoodrich says they are the same tire compound as the KD series. Also, read this on epinions.com from a reviewer:

"It is a little advertised fact that these are the same street tires used in the Skip Barber Race Series on the R/T 2000 open wheeled formula cars for their Regional, National and Masters race series at race tracks all over the country.

Having driven 10 race weekends and approx. 20 lapping sessions on these tires at tracks including Sebring, VIR, Mont-TrembIant and Lime Rock Park I can confirm that their on-track performance is outstanding. On a 1200 lb. open wheeled race car they have excellent grip in both wet and dry conditions, are very predictable and offer as much grip and comparable lap times to the racing slicks that were abandoned after these tires came along. Having driven them at over 100mph in heavy rain on three different occasions I can also attest to their superior wet weather performance in extreme conditions."

I think I'm sold on these in size 255/45/R17 for 114 on tirerack.

Apparently the SRT-4 comes from the factory with KDW2s. A couple SRT-4 owners on tire rack wrote reviews that they liked the G-force sport more than the KDW2. Some reviews from them:

"Fantastic tire; I had BFG KDW2 from the factory that wore quickly and they were replaced with Yokohama AVS ES100 tires. This tire [g-force sport] has exceeded my expectation and so far is offering better performance wet/dry then either of my last sets."

"Excellent tire for the money. Much quieter than the KDW 2s I replaced, and with no loss in traction. Seem to be slightly better in a straight line. A couple heavy rainfalls the last few weeks have demonstrated their resistance to hydroplaning also. I got 20K miles out of the KDWs including a couple trips to the dragstrip and several autocrosses. I expect about the same from the Sports."
